Getting to visit Cuba again was an absolute dream. The candy colored houses, fresh papaya, sea salt in the air, inability to access social media. It was all a refreshing dream. Seeing how much it has changed since it became accessible for Americans to visit was amazing. The town that I’e spent the most time in has added 4 hotels, 8 restaurants, and at least 20 families have been able to turn parts of their homes into hostels. While there’s some growth I hope never comes (CVS, McDonald’s, Holiday Inn), I’m so excited for my Cuban friends and their growing world.
